God Doesn’t Forget

Scripture Focus: Psalm 105:8 – “He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations.”

Devotional:

Let’s be honest, waiting is hard. Especially when it feels like God is silent. You pray, you hope, and you hold on, but the years stretch on and life doesn’t look like what God promised. If you’ve ever felt this way, you’re in good company.

Abraham did too.

God promised him a child, yet for years, nothing happened. He and Sarah were old. The odds were impossible. But Abraham kept walking with God. Not perfectly, he made mistakes along the way, but he didn’t walk away. Why? Because he trusted the One who made the promise.

Psalm 105:8 reminds us that God remembers His covenant forever. That means what He spoke over your life isn’t forgotten. It’s not buried under your failures or delayed by time. God doesn’t operate like people do. He doesn’t promise today and change His mind tomorrow. He doesn’t ghost you when you’re waiting.

We live in a world where people break promises easily, friendships fall apart, jobs don’t work out, relationships fade. But God? He’s solid. His promises are anchored in who He is, not what we do. And because He doesn’t change, we can keep showing up, praying, believing, and walking in faith.

Maybe you are praying for healing, breakthrough, direction, or peace in a situation that feels stuck. Keep going. Approach God with sincerity, just as Abraham did. You do not need fancy words, just an honest heart. He's not impressed by performance; He’s moved by faith.

And when it feels like nothing’s happening, remember: delay doesn’t mean denial. If God said it, He’s working on it, even when you don’t see it yet.

Reflection Questions:

  • What has God promised you that you’re still waiting on?
  • How can you practice sincere faith even in the waiting?
  • Where do you need to be reminded today that God doesn’t forget?

Prayer:

God, thank You for being faithful even when I get tired of waiting. Help me trust that You remember what You said, and You’ll bring it to pass in Your time. Amen.
