Clothed in Christ

Scripture: "Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh." – Romans 13:14 (NIV)

Devotional:

Every day, we make decisions about what to wear. Our clothes reflect who we are and often determine how we are perceived. But beyond physical garments, Romans 13:14 reminds us of the importance of being spiritually dressed—clothed in Christ.

To be clothed in Christ means to put on His character—love, humility, righteousness, and faith. It means allowing His presence to cover us, guiding our thoughts, words, and actions. When we intentionally wear Christ, we make a conscious effort to walk in His ways, resisting temptations that pull us toward worldly desires.

Paul's words also warn us against making provisions for the flesh. This doesn’t just refer to sinful actions but also to the mindset that entertains sin. We must be intentional about guarding our hearts and minds, filling them with things that align with God’s will.

Reflection:

  • Are you clothed in Christ daily, or do you allow distractions to strip you of His presence?
  • What areas in your life do you need to surrender to Jesus so that you can reflect Him more?

Prayer:
Lord, help me to put on Christ daily. Clothe me in Your righteousness and guide me away from anything that draws me away from You. May my life reflect Your love and holiness. Amen.
