Scripture: “Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever.” – Psalm 112:6 (NIV)
Devotional:
Life can feel like shifting ground. News headlines, personal struggles, and unexpected detours all try to pull us off balance. But Psalm 112 paints a different picture for those who trust in God. It speaks of people who are not just surviving the storm, they're standing tall through it.
This psalm doesn’t ignore the reality of darkness. Verse 4 even says, “Even in darkness light dawns for the upright.” That means being righteous doesn’t mean we’re immune to challenges. What sets the righteous apart is who they trust in and how they respond when things shake.
God promises that those who fear Him and walk in His ways won't be shaken. Not because of their strength, but because they’re anchored in His. This stability shows up in real ways: peace in uncertainty, courage in tough decisions, and hope that refuses to quit. Even when bad news comes, the righteous don’t fall apart. Psalm 112:7 says their hearts are “steadfast, trusting in the Lord.”
If you’ve been feeling unstable lately, worried about the future, your finances, or your family, this is your reminder: God is still your rock. Stay rooted in His Word, keep walking in obedience, and trust that He sees you. You’re not forgotten. You’re not finished. And you’re definitely not alone.
When we live God’s way, we’re not just building a temporary shelter; we’re planting something that will outlast storms. Our legacy, our peace, and our stability are safe in His hands.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to trust You even when everything around me feels uncertain. Steady my heart. Remind me that I’m not alone and I won’t be shaken. Amen.
