The Eye of the Lord Is on You

Scripture: “But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love.” — Psalm 33:18 (NIV)

Devotional

Have you ever been in a situation where you felt completely invisible? Maybe you have been doing your best to keep things together, but it seems like no one notices not even God. If that’s where you are right now, Psalm 33 brings a powerful reminder: you are seen.

God is not distant or distracted. The verse says, “the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him”. That means His focus is on you. Not to find fault, but to rescue, comfort, and carry you through whatever you are facing.

Let’s be honest. There are moments when life gets so overwhelming that it feels like we’re all alone. Maybe you are job hunting and the rejections keep coming. Maybe you’re grieving quietly while others assume you are okay. Or you are battling anxiety behind your smile. These things may be hidden from people, but not from God.

He sees.
He cares.
And more than that—He intends to save you.

That’s what makes this scripture so powerful. His “unfailing love” is not just a concept. It is His daily commitment to be present, to provide, and to preserve you. Verse 19 continues by saying He will “deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.” This means even in seasons of scarcity, fear, or near loss, God’s hand is still at work. He knows what to do, and when to act.

Think of Hagar in the wilderness (Genesis 16). She was alone and running away, convinced that no one saw her pain. But God met her, called her by name, and gave her hope. She named Him El Roi—“the God who sees me.” That same God sees you today.

Let that sink in. You are not overlooked. Not forgotten.
So what should you do? Keep hoping in Him. Keep praying. Keep showing up. His eyes are on you, and His intention is not just to observe but to act on your behalf.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for always seeing me. Even when I feel forgotten, Your eyes are on me. Help me to hope in Your love and trust Your timing. Deliver me from fear and remind me that I’m never alone. Amen.
