Scripture: Psalm 105:11–17
Devotional:
There are times in life when God gives you a word, a dream, or a promise, and you are filled with excitement. You start making plans, your heart is full of hope, and you are ready to move forward. But then… nothing seems to happen. Days turn into months, and sometimes even years. The waiting gets hard. Doubt creeps in. Did God really speak? Did I hear Him right?
Psalm 105 reminds us that God is not like us, He doesn't forget. When He promised the land to Abraham and his descendants, it took time, but He kept His word. Generations passed, and still, God was working. He even sent Joseph ahead into Egypt, not in the way anyone expected, but as part of His plan to preserve the covenant.
Sometimes, the delay is not denial. It’s preparation. God is lining things up, even in the background. He is shaping you for what’s ahead and preparing the place for your arrival. Joseph had to go through betrayal, slavery, and prison before stepping into leadership but every step was necessary.
You may not see the full picture right now. The dream might seem out of reach. But here’s the truth: God is a covenant keeper. He doesn't change His mind or go back on His promises. If He said it, He will do it. Your job is not to figure out when, it’s to keep trusting, keep believing, and keep walking with Him.
So don’t lose heart. Don’t give up. Even when it feels like everything is quiet, God is still moving. His timing is perfect, and His faithfulness is sure.
Prayer
Lord, help me to trust You even when the wait is long. Teach me to hold on to Your promises and not grow weary. Strengthen my heart and remind me that You are a covenant-keeping God. Amen.
