God Stands by the Just

Scripture: “Turn from evil and do good; then you will dwell in the land forever. For the Lord loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones.” — Psalm 37:27–28 (NIV)

Devotional:

When Right Feels Wrong

Let’s be honest. Sometimes doing the right thing doesn’t feel rewarding at all. You forgive someone who hurt you deeply but they don’t apologize. You refuse to cut corners at work only to be passed over for a promotion. You speak the truth and lose friends. In moments like these, you might wonder, “Is it even worth it?”

Psalm 37 reminds us that God sees all of it. “The Lord loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones.” That’s not just a poetic line, it’s a promise. When you choose what is right in God’s eyes, even when it's unpopular or uncomfortable, you are not alone. He’s watching. He’s walking with you. And He’s working behind the scenes in ways you might not see right away.

In a world that celebrates shortcuts, it takes real courage to stand for justice, honesty, and purity. But God’s approval is worth far more than public applause. He values faithfulness not just flashy obedience when everyone is looking, but quiet consistency when no one is.

Just think of people like Joseph in the Bible. He did what was right and still ended up in prison. But God never left him. And in time, the same integrity that brought him trouble also opened the door to promotion and purpose.

So if you're tired of being the “good one” in a world that doesn’t seem to care, hold on. Your story isn’t over. God hasn’t left your side and He never will.

Prayer:
Lord, help me not to give up when it’s hard to do what is right. Strengthen my heart to keep walking in integrity, knowing You are with me and You see me. Amen.
