Scripture Reading:“I brought you up out of Egypt and led you into the land I swore to give to your ancestors. I said, ‘I will never break my covenant with you.’” – Judges 2:1 (NIV)
Devotional
Judges 2:11–19 shows us the tragic cycle of Israel’s disobedience. Each time they turned from God, they suffered, but when they cried out, He raised up a deliverer. Israel was unfaithful, but God remained faithful because He never breaks His covenant.
This passage reminds us that God’s character does not change. People may walk away, leaders may fail, and generations may forget God, but His promises remain sure. Paul captures this truth in 2 Timothy 2:13: “If we are faithless, He remains faithful—for He cannot disown Himself.”
Today, we live in times not so different from the days of the Judges. Many chase after modern “idols”—money, fame, power, pleasure—and often forget God’s ways. Society normalizes compromise, and truth is easily abandoned. Yet in the middle of this, God’s faithfulness still shines.
His faithfulness is seen in the way He preserves His church, answers prayers, provides for His people, and calls us back through His Word and Spirit. Just as He raised judges to rescue Israel, He has given us the ultimate Deliverer—Jesus Christ—who redeems and sustains us.
In a culture where many hearts grow cold, our hope is anchored in a God who never changes. He is calling us to stand firm, to live as faithful witnesses, and to trust His promises even when the world rejects Him.
Application

- Family: Lead your home in prayer and devotion, keeping God at the center even if others around you do not.
- Community: Shine as a light in your workplace, school, or church, reminding others by your life that God is faithful.
Prayer
Faithful God, thank You that Your covenant love never changes. In a world that often turns away from You, help me remain steadfast in faith. Strengthen me to live as a witness to Your faithfulness and to trust Your promises daily. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
