Scripture Reading: Luke 12:39–40 – “But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
Devotional Reflection
Jesus reminds us that His return will come suddenly, like a thief in the night. Many people live as if tomorrow is guaranteed, but this passage calls us to spiritual vigilance. Being “watchful” isn’t about fear—it’s about readiness. It means living each day in alignment with God’s will, keeping our hearts pure, and staying faithful in service.
When we grow complacent, we risk losing sight of what truly matters. Readiness is not a one-time act but a daily posture of expectation, obedience, and faithfulness.
Life Application
Ask yourself today: If Christ were to return right now, would He find me faithful? Live ready by cultivating prayer, walking in love, and being diligent in the work God has entrusted to you. Let every decision, word, and action reflect a heart prepared to meet the Master.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me to live each day with a watchful and ready heart. Keep me from spiritual slumber and strengthen me to walk faithfully in Your will. May I be found serving, loving, and trusting You when You return. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
