Stay Where You Are Received

Scripture Reading: Luke 10:7 (NIV)

“Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house.”

Devotional Reflection

When Jesus sent out the seventy-two, He gave a simple yet profound instruction: “Stay where you are received.” This wasn’t just about hospitality, it was a lesson in contentment and focus. Too often, we rush from place to place or assignment to assignment, searching for “better” opportunities, forgetting that God’s blessing often unfolds where we are faithful.

Jesus wanted His disciples to avoid distraction and unnecessary comparison. Staying where you are received teaches us to value genuine relationships, build trust, and grow where we’re planted. The grace that sustains you is tied to the place where God has called you.

Life Application

Be faithful where God has placed you. Whether in ministry, work, or family, stop comparing your journey to others. Instead, honor the space and people God has provided for this season. When you remain rooted, you bear lasting fruit.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, teach me to be content and faithful where You’ve placed me. Help me to recognize and value the doors You open and to serve with gratitude. May I never despise small beginnings or move ahead of Your timing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
