God Knows the Heart

Scripture Reading: Luke 16:9–15 (Focus: Verse 15)

“And He said to them, ‘You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.’” — Luke 16:15 (NKJV)

Reflection:

Jesus’ words remind us that human judgment often looks at appearance, status, and wealth, while God looks deeper—into the heart. The Pharisees prided themselves on religious appearance, but their hearts were filled with greed and self-righteousness. God’s evaluation is not based on what people applaud but on the purity of our motives and the sincerity of our devotion. True righteousness flows from a heart that loves God more than recognition or reward.

We live in a world obsessed with image and approval. Yet, God values inner truth over outward show. When our hearts are right before Him, our actions naturally reflect His character. The heart is the true altar where worship begins.

Life Application:

Ask yourself daily: Why am I doing what I’m doing? Is it to please God or to gain people’s praise? Align your motives with God’s Word. Practice humility, honesty, and integrity in all you do. Remember that divine approval outweighs human applause. Live transparently before God, knowing He sees the unseen and rewards the faithful.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, search my heart and cleanse me from every wrong motive. Teach me to live sincerely before You, not seeking human praise but divine approval. Help me to walk in truth and humility, that my heart may always reflect Your righteousness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
