Scripture Reading: Luke 19:1–10
Key Verse: “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” — Luke 19:5
Devotional Reflection
In the crowd at Jericho, Zacchaeus climbed a sycamore tree, hoping just to catch a glimpse of Jesus. To his surprise, Jesus stopped, looked up, and called him by name. That moment changed his life. It showed that no one is too hidden, too sinful, or too insignificant for God’s attention.
Jesus didn’t just see a tax collector; He saw a man with a longing heart. He called Zacchaeus personally, proving that God’s love isn’t general—it’s deeply personal. The Lord knows our names, our struggles, our stories, and still invites us into fellowship with Him. When we respond to His call, transformation follows. Zacchaeus’ encounter led to repentance and restitution because love found him where judgment once lived.
Life Application
You are not invisible to God. He knows your name, your past, and your potential. Even when others overlook or misjudge you, Jesus calls you by name and invites you into relationship. Don’t hide behind fear, guilt, or status. Come down, as Zacchaeus did, and welcome Him joyfully. When Jesus enters your life, change is inevitable—grace restores what sin has broken.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for knowing me by name and loving me despite my flaws. Help me to respond to Your call with joy and surrender. Let Your presence transform my life and restore what has been lost. Amen.
