Called to Speak God's Word

Scripture: “You shall speak my words to them, whether they hear or refuse to hear, for they are a rebellious house.” — Ezekiel 2:7 (ESV)

Devotional

When God called Ezekiel to be a prophet, He gave him a difficult assignment—to speak to a rebellious people who might not listen. God did not promise Ezekiel that his message would be well received. Instead, He commanded him to be faithful in delivering the word, regardless of the outcome.

This is a powerful reminder that our responsibility as believers is obedience, not results. Whether we are sharing the gospel, encouraging others in faith, or standing for truth in difficult situations, our duty is to speak as God leads us. The world may reject the message, but our faithfulness matters to God.

Sometimes, we hesitate to share God’s Word because we fear rejection or opposition. But Ezekiel’s calling teaches us that obedience to God is more important than human approval. Even if people refuse to listen, they will know that God’s servant has spoken.

Reflection Questions:

  • Are there moments when you hesitate to speak about God because of fear?
  • How can you be faithful in sharing God’s truth even when it’s unpopular?
  • In what ways can you trust God with the results rather than seeking human approval?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, help me to be bold in speaking Your Word, whether people accept it or not. Give me the courage to stand firm in obedience and to trust You with the outcome. Let my life be a testimony of Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
