Scripture: “So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel.” – Ezekiel 39:7 (NKJV)
Devotional Reflection
Throughout history, God has revealed Himself to the world in various ways—through creation, His Word, His mighty acts, and most significantly, through Jesus Christ. In Ezekiel 39, God declares that He will make His name known, not only among His people but also to the nations. This promise reminds us that God’s works are never hidden; they are meant to display His glory to the entire world.
When God acts, He does so with purpose. In this chapter, He brings judgment upon Gog, a symbol of the enemies of His people. This victory is not just about defending Israel; it is about revealing His holiness, justice, and sovereignty to all. Just as in biblical times, God continues to make His name known today—through miracles, transformed lives, and the spreading of the gospel.
Application
- A Life that Reflects God’s Name – As believers, we carry the name of Christ. Our words, actions, and choices should honor Him and make His name known in our circles of influence.
- God’s Sovereignty in the Nations – Even when the world seems chaotic, God is still in control. He is working behind the scenes, turning events for His divine purpose.
- Sharing the Gospel – We are called to proclaim His name among the nations. Through evangelism, missions, and daily interactions, we can be vessels through which God's name is made known.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing Your name and glory to the world. Help me to live in a way that honors You and makes Your presence known among those around me. May Your power be displayed through my life, and may Your name be glorified in all the earth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
