God is Doing a New Thing

Scripture: Isaiah 43:16–21

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” — Isaiah 43:18–19 (NIV)

As we step into a new week, Isaiah reminds us of the God who makes a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. He is not limited by what has been—He is the God of the now and the next.

Israel had seen the mighty acts of God before: the parting of the Red Sea, the deliverance from Egypt, the pillar of fire by night. Yet, God says, “Forget the former things.” Not because they weren’t important, but because He is about to surpass them. His power is not a thing of the past—it’s active in the present and overflowing into your future.

Sometimes we get stuck reminiscing about what used to be, or mourning over what was lost. But God is calling us to lift our eyes. A new thing is springing forth. Can you perceive it?

Reflection:

  • What “former things” do you need to stop dwelling on?
  • Where in your life do you need God to make a way in the wilderness?
  • Are you ready for the new thing God is doing?

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being the God who makes all things new. Help me to let go of the past and open my heart to the fresh work You are doing in my life. Give me eyes to see, ears to hear, and a spirit that trusts in Your perfect plan. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Have a blessed Sunday! God is doing a new thing—walk into it with bold faith.
