God Writes the Final Chapter

Scripture Reading: Esther 6:1-14

Key Verse: "So Haman came in, and the king said to him, ‘What shall be done for the man whom the king delights to honor?’ Now Haman thought in his heart, ‘Whom would the king delight to honor more than me?’” — Esther 6:6 (NKJV)

Life often feels like an unfinished story. Sometimes, we go through seasons where it seems like the wicked prosper while the righteous are forgotten. We work hard, stay faithful, and do good, yet recognition and rewards seem far away. But Esther 6 reminds us of one powerful truth: God writes the final chapter.

God’s Timing is Perfect

In Esther 6, King Ahasuerus could not sleep. This small, seemingly insignificant detail set off a divine chain of events. He asked for the book of records to be read, and in doing so, he discovered that Mordecai had once saved his life but was never rewarded. That same night, Haman, Mordecai’s enemy, came to the palace intending to seek permission to execute Mordecai. But before he could speak, the king asked Haman how to honor someone special. Thinking he was the one to be honored, Haman described an extravagant reward—only to learn that the honor was meant for Mordecai.

This moment teaches us that even when it seems like we have been overlooked, God is working behind the scenes. The delay in Mordecai’s recognition was not an oversight; it was divine timing. Had he been rewarded earlier, it would not have had the same impact. When God is orchestrating your breakthrough, He ensures that it happens at the right time.

God Reverses Evil Plans

Haman had built gallows, planning to execute Mordecai. But by the end of the story, those very gallows became the instrument of his own downfall (Esther 7:10). This is a reminder that no weapon formed against God’s people shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). God can turn the plans of the enemy into stepping stones for His divine purpose.

God Honors His Faithful Servants

Mordecai remained faithful despite years of being overlooked. He didn’t seek revenge or try to promote himself. He simply trusted God. In the end, not only was he honored publicly, but he was also elevated to a position of greater influence. When we stay faithful, God will honor us in ways beyond our imagination.

Application for Today

  1. Trust God’s Timing: Delays are not denials. Keep trusting that God is working behind the scenes for your good.
  2. Remain Faithful: Like Mordecai, continue to do what is right even when no one notices. God always rewards faithfulness.
  3. Let God Handle Your Enemies: Instead of seeking revenge, let God fight for you. He knows how to bring justice in His own way.
  4. Expect Divine Reversals: God can turn any situation around. What the enemy meant for evil, God can use for good (Genesis 50:20).

Final Thought
Your story isn’t over. No matter what you’re facing today, remember: God writes the final chapter. He is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and He knows how to turn your waiting season into a testimony of His faithfulness. Stay patient, stay faithful, and watch Him move in your life!

Prayer
Father, thank You for being the author of my story. Help me to trust Your timing, stay faithful, and wait for the divine reversal You have planned. I believe that You write the final chapter, and my story will end in victory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
