Scripture: “Seeing what was ahead, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay.” – Acts 2:31 (NIV)
Have you ever held on to a promise, hoping that what was said would truly come to pass? In Acts 2, Peter boldly reminds the crowd of a powerful truth: God is a promise-keeper.
Quoting Psalm 16, Peter shows how King David, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, spoke prophetically about the resurrection of Jesus Christ—hundreds of years before it happened. This was not just poetic language. It was a divine forecast of a future reality: the Messiah would rise from the dead and conquer decay.
God had a plan. He revealed it through prophecy. And He fulfilled it, perfectly. This reminds us that God’s Word is never void of power. What He says, He brings to pass. Every promise in Scripture is backed by His integrity and His authority.
So, what has God spoken over your life?
What promise are you still holding on to?
If He fulfilled His word through David concerning Jesus, He will also fulfill His promises to you. His timing may not always align with ours, but His faithfulness never fails.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being a God who speaks and fulfills. Help me to trust in Your Word, even when the waiting is long. Strengthen my faith to believe that what You have spoken over my life will surely come to pass. Amen.
