We Are Unprofitable Servants

Scripture Reading:

Luke 17:7–10; Romans 12:1; 1 Corinthians 15:10

Devotional Reflection
Jesus reminds His followers that our service to God is not about earning His favor but responding to His grace. When we obey His Word, pray, give, or serve others, we are not doing God a favor—He owes us nothing. Instead, every act of service is an expression of gratitude for His mercy and love.

Paul captures this truth when he says, “By the grace of God I am what I am.” Everything we do for God is empowered by His grace. A true servant serves not for applause or recognition, but out of love and humility, knowing that without Him, we can do nothing. This mindset keeps us from pride and helps us remain faithful in both great and small tasks.

Life Application:
Serve God with humility and gratitude. Whether you’re leading, teaching, cleaning, or encouraging others, remember that your service is unto the Lord. Don’t look for praise or position; look for opportunities to glorify God. Every act of obedience becomes meaningful when it’s done with a heart of thanksgiving.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the privilege to serve You. Help me to walk in humility, serving faithfully without seeking recognition. May my life reflect gratitude for Your grace and love. Amen.
