The Blessing of Being Chosen

Scripture Reading:

Luke 10:23–24 (NKJV)
“Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see; for I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, and have not seen it, and to hear what you hear, and have not heard it.”

Key Quote:

A.W. Tozer once wrote, “The highest privilege of the Christian life is to know God and be known by Him.”

Devotional Reflection

Jesus turned to His disciples and spoke words many overlook—words that reveal how deeply privileged we are as believers. Prophets, kings, and generations before longed to witness the unfolding of God’s plan. They caught glimpses through shadows and promises, but the disciples saw the Messiah in the flesh.

Today, we stand in an even richer place. We have the full gospel, the indwelling Spirit, and access to God’s presence at any moment. We didn’t earn this grace; it was given. Jesus’ words remind us not to take our spiritual blessings lightly. We are not ordinary people wandering through life; we are chosen to see, hear, and know divine truth.

This blessing isn’t just about privilege—it’s partnership. God reveals Himself so we can walk with Him, serve Him, and carry His light into the world. When we recognize the honor of being chosen, gratitude rises and obedience becomes a joy, not a burden.

Life Application

  1. Pause and give thanks for the privilege of knowing Christ.
  2. Value your spiritual experiences—your prayer life, your insights, your encounters with Scripture.
  3. Share what you’ve been shown. If God has revealed His truth to you, He intends for someone else to be blessed through you.
  4. Walk boldly. You are chosen not just to see, but to shine. Let this awareness shape your confidence in God’s calling.

Prayer

Father, thank You for the blessing of knowing You through Christ. Open my eyes to cherish the grace I’ve received. Help me walk in this privilege with humility, gratitude, and boldness. Let my life reflect the joy of being chosen to see and hear the things many longed for. Guide me to share Your truth with love and confidence. Amen.
