Destiny Can’t Be Denied

Scripture: “Now the king was attracted to Esther more than to any of the other women, and she won his favor and approval more than any of the other virgins. So he set a royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.” – Esther 2:17 (NIV)

Devotional:

Have you ever felt overlooked, hidden, or forgotten? Esther knew what that felt like. She was an orphan, raised in exile, and living far from the place where anyone would expect purpose to find her. Yet, when God's hand is on your life, destiny cannot be denied.

Esther didn’t push her way into the palace. She didn’t manipulate her way into favor. She simply walked through the doors God opened, remained obedient to wise counsel (Mordecai), and trusted the process—even when she didn’t fully understand where it was leading. And in God’s perfect timing, favor located her.

What’s powerful is that Esther didn’t just become queen for status or luxury. Her appointment was divine. She was raised up “for such a time as this” to save her people (Esther 4:14). Her story reminds us that our journey may not always make sense, but when we trust God, every detail is leading us closer to our assignment.

Reflection:
Maybe you’re in a season that feels slow, quiet, or even discouraging. Maybe it looks like others are being chosen and you’re being passed by. But let Esther remind you—when destiny is calling your name, no one else can wear your crown.

Prayer:
Father, thank You that my life is in Your hands. Help me to trust Your timing and preparation. Even when I feel unseen, remind me that You see me, You know me, and You are positioning me. May I walk boldly into the destiny You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Challenge:
Take a moment today to reflect on one closed door or delay in your life—and thank God for how He might be using it to prepare you for something greater.
