Scripture Readings:
Genesis 17:3–9 | Psalm 105:4–9 | John 8:51–end
Exhortation:
Today, as we journey through the 32nd day of Lent, God is reminding us of something powerful—His covenant is unbreakable, but our commitment must be unwavering.
In Genesis 17, God speaks to Abraham and reaffirms His covenant—a promise to make him the father of many nations. Abraham’s role? To walk faithfully before God. This season of Lent is a personal call to us too. God is faithful to His promises, but He’s also asking, “Will you walk faithfully with Me?”
Psalm 105 echoes this truth, telling us to “Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His presence always.” It reminds us of the covenant He made, not just with Abraham, but through generations—including us. In Lent, we are not just fasting or praying for religious formality. We are seeking His face, His power, and renewing our commitment to live according to His will.
Then comes the bold statement from Jesus in John 8:
"Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death."
What a powerful promise! Jesus wasn’t talking about physical death, but eternal life. Lent is the perfect time to reflect: Are we truly obeying His word? Do our actions reflect our love for Him? Or are we just going through the motions?
Beloved, this is not the time to slack. It’s a time to go deeper. To align with the God who keeps covenant. To live lives that reflect trust and obedience. Let your heart say today, “Lord, I commit to walk faithfully with You, just as You have always been faithful to me.”
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your covenant of love and life. In this Lenten season, help me walk in obedience, seek Your face continually, and live a life that honors You. Strengthen me not to give up, but to grow deeper in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
